Celebrating 25 years of serving Edmonton's most vulnerable
Since 1995, Kids Kottage has sheltered over 27,000 infants and children and helped over 14,000 families. Did you know that less than 3% of those families have required government intervention after their time with us? That is what we do, we prevent crises. We care for the infants and children while walking along-side the caregivers, empowering them to make positive changes, strengthen their parenting capacity, and get out of crisis.
Our organization looks a little bit different today than it did 25 years ago. The Kottage itself has grown, our programs have expanded, community partnerships have been forged, but our heart and mission to keep infants and children safe and families strong, remains unchanged.
And we believe that is something to be celebrated! So, to kick off our 25th year of keeping our community’s most vulnerable safe, we worked together with Mammoet, Telus World of Science Edmonton, and some of our generous volunteers, to deliver 25 baskets to 25 families we have served over the years.
The amount of support we have been able to provide to infants, children, and families would not be possible without the dedication and loyal support from all of our volunteers, funders, the Government of Alberta, Kottage staff, and the entire Edmonton community. Each person who has supported us over the last 25 years has played a vital role in keeping Kids Kottage’s mission and vision alive and well.
The Kottage has grown so much since its inception in 1995, and we are honoured to continue to serve the infants, children, and families in our community and do our part to build a more resilient future. We truly can’t wait to see what we as a community, can accomplish together in the years to come.
All children have inherent value as individuals and are recognized to have specific rights, established under the 1989 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Kids Kottage Foundation respects and upholds these specific and inherent rights.
