JOB OPPORTUNITY-KIDS KOTTAGE

Kids Kottage will hire 1 full time Family Support Worker. The job entails answering a 24-hr crisis line, providing counselling and support to parents over the phone who are experiencing distress, facilitating admission and discharge of children, and providing child care.

This person will work 12 hour day and night shifts on a 3-on, 3-off rotation.

Successful applicant will have interest in and ability to work effectively with families of diverse and aboriginal heritages to provide preventive and early intervention services.

He/she will possess:
Degree or diploma in a human service field
CRIMINAL RECORDS CHECK and CHILD WELFARE RECORD CHECK current within the last 6 months
Current first aid certificate,
Crisis intervention certificate,
Aboriginal awareness certificate,
ASIST (suicide intervention) certificate.

Successful applicants will have 2 years experience in a formal childcare setting; demonstrate effective team skills, excellent verbal communication (with children and adults), excellent documentation skills and adequate health and energy to work in a 5,000 square foot facility.

Salary range $14.00 - $17.00 per hour commensurate with education and experience. Benefits package provided upon completion of probation.

JOB OPPORTUNITY-KIDS KOTTAGE

Kids Kottage will hire Casual Awake Night Shift Workers. The job entails performing light to moderate housekeeping duties and providing childcare as required.

This person will work 8-hour night shifts from midnight to 8:00 am.

Kids Kottage is a crisis nursery that provides short-term respite and emergency childcare for children 0-10 years of age whose families are unable to cope with parenting responsibilities. Parents access follow-up services from the crisis nursery.

He/she will possess:
" 2 years experience in a formal childcare setting
" CRIMINAL RECORDS CHECK and CHILD WELFARE RECORD CHECK current within the last 6 months
" Current first aid certificate,
" Crisis intervention certificate,
" Aboriginal awareness certificate,
" ASIST (suicide intervention) certificate.

Successful applicants will demonstrate effective team skills, and adequate health and energy to work awake night shifts in a 5,000 square foot facility and perform housekeeping duties.

Salary range $11.00 - $15.50 per hour, commensurate with experience. Benefits package available. Shift differential of $.50 per hour for weeknights, and $1.50 per hour for weekend nights.
