VOLUNTEERING
AT KIDS KOTTAGE
Volunteers of many types are
greatly appreciated at Kids Kottage throughout the year.
REQUIREMENTS FOR VOLUNTEERING
AT KIDS KOTTAGE
*Completion of a volunteer interview
*Resume
*Three letters of reference
*Police Security Clearance Check and Children Services Intervention Check
(these forms will be completed at the orientation appointment for processing
Two pieces of government identification are required for the above forms:
(photo I.D.-driver's license,passport etc. and one other such as Alberta
health
care card,birth certificate,etc
CHILDCARE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
COMMITMENT:
*Attend orientation
and training as provided
*Volunteer for 3 - 4 hours per week
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*To work directly with
the childcare staff under their direction
*Will be supervised to provide age appropriate activities and care to
the children
*To participate in all parts of the daily routine
*Adhere to all policies and procedures related to health,safety and behaviour
management
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Must be at least 14
years of age
*Must be non-judgemental,flexible and willing to learn childcare
BENEFITS:
*Work in a pleasant
and homelike environment
*Gain experience in working with children whose families are in crisis
*Develop chilcare skills
*For high school, college or university students credit for hours of volunteering
would be verified as required for courses.
SUPPORT WORKER VOLUNTEER
OPPORTUNITY
COMMITMENT:
*Attend orientation
and training as provided
*Volunteer for 3 to 4 hours per week
RESPONSIBILITIES
*Assist with the preparation
and service of snacks and meals
*Assist with cleaning duties in the kitchen and throughout the Kottage
*Assist with delivery of donations to storage areas and then assiSt with
the
sorting of these donations
*Assist with maintenance and landscaping outside the Kottage
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Must be at least 14
years of age
*Must be comfortable working around children and willing to take
direction
OFFICE ASSISTANT VOLUNTEER
OPPORTUNITY
COMMITMENT
*Volunteer 3 - 4 hours
per week
*Attend orientation and training
RESPONSIBILITIES
*To work directly with
the administrative assistants to assist with office
procedures
*Duties would include :telephone duties,photocopying,filing and data entry
Other duties may be assigned that match the volunteer skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Must be 16 years of
age
*Must be willing to take direction
